After installing viWebChat, you log in as a chat agent by going to When the page is loaded, simply enter the username and password you setup when your account was created. Once entered correctly, the chat agent screen will be displayed and the message on your site will change to indicate a chat agent has logged on.
Your chat agent will log in telling the system you are available to receive chats. Your website will then display a chat link to your website visitors. As visitors click on that link, they will have direct 1-on-1 chats with your chat agent.
No. Your chat agent will log in, causing your website to show that your chat agent is available for chat. Once your agent is available, your website will provide a link to your website visitors to open up a chat window. Your website visitors must initiate the chat by clicking on the chat link. A separate browser window will be opened containing a direct chat connection with your chat agent.
It is not complicated at all! In fact, it was built to be as easy to use as possible. Simply, open up the agent url in any browser (even on your mobile device or tablet), join the chat, and that's it! You will be notified as new users join the chat. Feel free to watch some of our sample 'how to' videos to see how viWebChat works. It was built to be very intuitive so agents and visitors can pick it up quite naturally.
The viWebChat application supports multiple chat agents chatting at one time. There is no limit, however your subscription plan determines how many agents you may have chatting online at the same time.

Technical Questions:

Upon successful registration, we provide you with a zip file containing all of the source code files you need to place on your website. The files are all inside a viWebChat folder located in the zip file. All you need to do is extract that folder as a subfolder underneath your web folder. So for example, if your website is on the "C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mywebsite" folder, you would place the viWebChat folder as a subfolder underneath the "mywebsite" folder. There is no need to do any additional configuration to your website.

Since the code contains javascript, html, and css, it is compatible with any type of web site or application. This means the viWebChat application will run on your site, regardless of the platform. Your site could be built in HTML, ASP.NET, PHP, Python, Classic ASP, or any other type of technology and still run the viWebChat application. It also means nearly any website administrator will be able to install it and get the application up and running very quickly and easily.
The viWebChat service is provided as a "software as a service" application. Any device with an internet connection can use it. The software was designed with small businesses in mind to run entirely on a mobile device. We host the chat server application on our server so you dont have to have any specific technical knowledge of how to do that. All you need is a recent web browser and a decent internet connection.
As patches and upgrades become available, they will automatically be applied for you. There may be times when certain scripts need to be updated on your website in order to take advantage of new features in the chat server. In these instances, we will provide you with the new script so that you can overwrite the existing script on your website hosting server.
No. The chat server is a separate application that can be hosted on any server with the proper technical requirements in place. We host the server application for you on our own servers. Your website can be hosted anywhere and still work fine with our application. We do provide hosting services as well as website design services for additional fees. The viWebChat server is a NodeJS application that we host on our server. Because we handle hosting the application itself, you do not need any special technical knowledge to use viWebChat. We will provide you with a url that your agent will hit as well as one for your website visitors.

Billing Questions:

The viWebChat service is provided as a "software as a service" application. You have the option to pay for the service on a month to month basis, or get a discount if you pay on a year to year basis. You may cancel your subscription at anytime through Paypal. There is no contract to sign. You may continue to use the service as long as your subscription is up to date.
The service price varies based on the number of chat agents you want to have log on at the same time. For companies that only need 1 to 4 chat agents, it costs $8.25 / month. If you pay annually, you will receive a discounted rate of $6.25 / month (or $75 per year).

Each subscription plan contains the unlimited use of viWebChat. There is no contract to sign and you may cancel at any time. You have 15 days to try the viWebChat service. If after that time period you decide you do not want to use it, a refund will be given. After that time period, no refunds will be given for previous months of use.
